Online Competitions to Win

The participants could belong to two categories: SCHOOL (For those who are currently enrolled in a school and have not passed standard 12th) and OPEN (For those who have passed standard 12th school examination). There is no upper age limit for OPEN category. The Essay competition is an initiative by CognoBytes to provide a platform for people to come and share their views, in the process know about Cognitive Science.

How would you explain what is study of mind/brain to someone’s grandparents?
OR
Imagining you are a cockroach, describe a human.

The competition is open for all school students who have not passed std 12th.

Procedure:
Write an essay of not more than 250 words on any of the topics stated above. You can send multiple entries.

Application Fee :
Indian Citizen :50 Indian Rupees for one essay.[Mode of payment> Demand Draft OR Cash Transfer]
Non-Indian citizen : 10$ for one essay.[Mode of payment> Cheque OR Cash Transfer]

Prizes (Seperate prizes will be given for both SCHOOL category and OPEN category):
1. Every participant will be sent a certificate of participation by email.
2. The Top two essays will be published online and made available for 6 months.
3. The 1st and 2nd winners will receive a medal with his/her name etched on it. The Medal will be shipped to your mailing address.
4. The 3rd winner might get prizes in cash/kind from sponsors.
5. More prizes for the winners might be declared by sponsors later.

Important Dates:
Last date for sending your entries : 11th Nov 2009.
Results will be published online on CognoBytes by 10th Feb 2010
