Bendigo Art Gallery

Bendigo Art Gallery is pleased to announce a new drawing prize for 2010. The Paul Guest Prize is a non-acquisitive cash prize of $10,000 which will be held every two years, highlighting contemporary drawing practice in Australia. The Prize was initiated by former Family Court Judge and Olympic rower, the Honourable Paul Guest QC and encourages artists from across Australia to engage with the important medium of drawing and to create challenging and unique art works.

Artists advised of selection by – Friday 18 June
Final delivery of artworks – 4pm Friday 6 August
Announcement and opening – Friday 13 August
Exhibition dates – 14 August – 10 October

Metro Gallery award

The Metro Gallery award, now in it’s eighth year, is Australia’s richest art award for emerging Australian artists. It has helped launched the careers of several past winners including Ben Quilty, Jackson Slattery and Sam Leach.

Windland Smith Rice International Awards 2010

After recent discussions with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, we are thrilled to announce the dates for the next Windland Smith Rice International Awards Exhibition. Beginning April 2011 and running through September, the category Winners and a selection of Highly Honored images from the 2010 competition will be on display as large-format prints and HD video.

International Songwriting Competition 2010

The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is an annual song contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena.

PRIZES:
Overall Grand Prize Winner – $25,000 cash (U.S.) and $20,000 in prizes
First Place Winners in each category – $3,000 in prizes
Second Place Winners in each category – $2,000 in prizes
Third Place winners in each category– $1,000 in prizes
Peoples’ Voice Online Voting (the public will be the judge and cast its vote for its favorite song from all the finalists) – $1,500 in prizes
