The aims of this open international composition competition are to:

Links will be made to composers and also to a source for scores and audio where available. The register will also include other works submitted by composers.
The competition will be held regularly (every two years) and each time the rules will be varied to include a different range of western instruments with which to accompany the shakuhachi.

Winners will be anounced on the competition website on Wednesday 30th June 2010.
