The music world is changing in ever more dramatic fashion and the demands on emerging young musicians are increasing apace.

The Michael Hill International Violin Competition is mindful of what is required to be a successful artist at the top of the profession and the past prize winners in this competition have exhibited just those distinctive qualities necessary for a long and fruitful career.

International Violin Competition of Indianapolis

This Competition was founded in 1982 under the artistic leadership of Josef Gingold to discover major violin talent and nurture the careers of those identified. Every four years, music lovers from all parts of the globe focus their attention on “The Indianapolis.” Now regarded as one of the most respected music competitions in the world, our Laureates uphold this tradition of excellence as soloists, chamber musicians and orchestral leaders in today’s foremost cultural centers.

The 8th Quadrennial Competition will be held in Indianapolis September 10 through 26, 2010.

Brescia International Violin Competition

The Twelfth City of Brescia International Violin Competition will be held in Brescia from October 21 to 30, 2010. The competition is open to violinists of all nationalities born after October 30, 1970. The First and Second Prize Winners of previous Editions of the City of Brescia International Violin Competition may not participate. Read more…

The Sibelius Society and the Sibelius Academy are arranging the 10th International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition in Helsinki from November 21 to December 2, 2010. The competition is open to violinists of all nationalities born in or after 1980. Read more…

The Stradivarius International Violin Competition proudly annonces the JUNIOR DIVISION (Contestants must be between the ages of 11 and 17 years as of July 5th 2010) competition, which will be held July 8th-10th in Salt Lake City, UT.
